We’ve all heard the saying that Norway’s Mount Tenerife is one of the tallest mountains in the world.
But now we’ve got some new data to back it up.
The data comes from a Norwegian company that tracks elevation data for all of Norway, and it shows the highest mountain range at the time of writing is located on the island of Høgskringla, located on Norway’s south coast.
Høgkringla is a relatively new mountain range that has just been added to the list of Norwegian mountains, and this new elevation data is what makes it the most impressive part of the mountain range.
The new data shows that the peak of Hogni, which is about one kilometer high, rises about 6.4 meters above sea level, making it one of only three peaks on the entire island that rises over 6 meters.
The data is only available for the year 2000, but it shows that Teneriveres peak has reached a height of 8,000 meters at the end of this year.
Tenerives highest peak is currently about 8,700 meters high, so if you want to see how high Norway’s highest mountain is, you can do that here.
