The U.S. Forest Service has closed the main roads leading to the town of Waynesville and other parts of the mountain range.
The agency said that about 200 residents had been ordered to leave their homes for the safety of their property.
Waynesville is home to the U.F.O. Mountain Fire, which has burned nearly 4,000 acres.
It has burned a portion of Highway 25 between Highway 29 and Highway 29A and 30 in the past week.
The wildfire is still burning near Highway 30A.
The fire has forced hundreds of evacuations and forced officials to use helicopters to help contain it.
The U.K. and Australian governments are also assisting the evacuation efforts.
There are currently no shelters available for people in Waynesburg, but residents can be sheltered by family members, neighbors and volunteers.
